TYPO3 at FOSS Asia in Vietnam
From 12th until 14th of November, nine Web Essentials staff members joined FOSS Asia at Raffles International College in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It was the first conference outside of Cambodia they participated in. The trip to Vietnam was not only focusing on the conference, it was also a gift to say thank you to the staff for their hard work in the company and to give them time to relax, see new things and get new experiences.
FOSS Asia is an open technology conference aimed to encourage people to use Free Open Source Software around Asia. There were many people from different countries who joined this event and almost everyone of them presented their own topic about how their company uses Free Open Source Software.
The speakers were sharing about the advantages of using free software in computer science for web developers and graphic designers. To show computer enthusiasts the advantages of using Free Open Source Software Dominik Stankowski, director of Web Essentials, and Visay Keo, web project coordinator, presented the CMS TYPO3 which has recently been translated into Khmer language.
The idea was to promote TYPO3 and Free Open Source Software which people can share and develop further.
While using high quality and standardized open source software such as TYPO3, people don't need to pay any costs as compared to programs that require expensive licenses.
Web Essentials fully encourages people to use Free Open Source Software in Cambodia.
