Proud of its history and it’s open, flexible, technology driven social impact culture, Web Essentials announces its future by appointing co-CEOs Visay Keo and Amy Hunt to lead the business forward.

This is an exciting change for the Web Essentials team and partners, both in terms of having Khmer leadership at the very top of the organization, and the gender-balanced team approach, which underpins who we are as a company.

Visay Keo

Co-CEO Technical

Visay is an avid technologist with over 10 years’ experience in software development, web applications, IT infrastructure automation, quality assurance and leadership. He has had many roles within Web Essentials over the past 10 years including Senior Developer, Scrum Master, Project Manager, Quality Manager and DevOps Manager. A key skill is his ability to bridge the communication gap between technical and non-technical people.

Team member perspective: Visay is not our manager but a Big Brother who is smart and has strong technical knowledge. We can ask for his help and advice at any time to solve what’s blocking us from success. We are encouraged to give Visay suggestions for improvement and know to speak up with new ideas or ways of doing things. Mistakes are for lessons learned.

Amy Hunt

Co-CEO Business

Amy has been with Web Essentials for four years and has a background in marketing, with over nine years experience implementing online marketing and Search Engine Optimisation for various businesses, including leading the UK SEO team at Europe's largest online retailer Zalando. She has a passion for people and loves working at Web Essentials given its mission of Developing Software and Developing People. Amy believes in the transformative power of technology to make people's lives easier and drive socio-economic development in Cambodia and beyond.

Team member perspective: Amy is the intellectual and critical thinking sister in our team. She is so much more than our Marketing Manager, she is also our friend.  She encourages us to think that this work is for us, to believe in ourselves, be the best we can be and do our work with pride and quality. She leads by example.

Where’s Grant going?

Grant has been our Acting CEO for 10 months and while stepping down from the role will remain connected to the business in a Governance and Advisory capacity.

What’s next?

Web Essentials continues to be a Cambodian business with its leadership in Cambodia. We are proud of our history having delivered over 200 digital solutions enabling social impact and business  improvement.  We are equally proud of our people, their accomplishments, capability and experience.

Together with our new ownership, we are looking forward to this new chapter in Web Essentials’ 10 year journey, and have set the path forward for the next 10 years.
